It has a few controls, and one allows you to pass MIDI through. One of the files is a simple VSTi that I wrote that passes MIDI straight through (I wrote it to demonstrate the bugs in the writeup). On that same web page is a link to files you can download. The only problem is that you will most likely run into these (confirmed) Sonar bugs: This will "work" because once you enable MIDI out on a VSTi, that plugin's output becomes available as an input to as many MIDI channels as you like. In fact I wrote such a VSTi plugin you can try. It would be possible to do this with a simple VSTi plugin that does nothing but pass incomming MIDI to its output. I really am sorry for the rant.I just wish developers would get their heads in the right place before proclaiming that bigger is better.Right now, it isn't! I'm tired, now I'm going downstairs to lie down on the sofa and cuddle up with my dogs since my wife is out of town for the weekend visiting family. I've spent hours on the phone with some idiot in India (where MS & HP outsource their support calls) only to be told "you cannot do this" or "you must send us more money then we can help you".

Even then, most hardware & software that some users have relied upon for years probably won't work.

One so-called "expert" (I don't recall who at this time) stated a year or so ago that we were at least 3 years away from full 64-bit integration. Windows should (and I mean they really SHOULD, after all Bill Gates has billions of $$ to spend) allow for complete compatibility with 32-bit software. The software & hardware world (outside a very small circle) hasn't adapted to 64-bit. I would really like to express my feelings about Windows and 64-bit OS but if I did I'd probably get banned from these forums. Do we have a native solution now, after all these years?

Is there any update for doing this in 8.5? I am using Win7 64-bit so most of the Virtual MIDI cables out there don't work. ? Who could say really?Ĭan you give some specs on what exactly you're trying to use together in real time playback? Using an unknown soundfont to trigger in real time. Most drum programs use multiple outs but I don't see that helping your needs.

Some synths will work together, some won't. Yes, but you want to trigger two softsynths simultaneously I'd say by the rest of your post. ( Without maintaining two copies of the same MIDI clips, naturally.) For instance, I might want to shadow the snare in a EZDrummer drum part with another sound taken from an old soundfont that I can adjust independently not REPLACE one sound with another, but have the MIDI data trigger two distinct instruments at the same time, during real-time MIDI playback (it doesn't have to ECHO both sounds while I'm programming the part, although that would be cool - but at least return both instruments upon playback). The reason is that I combine samples a lot, often from different products. Is it possible to send MIDI data to TWO audio outs (or more) simultaneously?
